Handbell Musicians of America is a nonprofit organization promoting advancement in the use of handbells. Until recently, we were known as the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR), and you will still see us refer to ourselves as “The Guild” for short.
The Guild is divided into twelve geographic regions or “areas.” Area 6 (that’s us!) represents the region consisting of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Our goal is to provide grassroots support for the development of the art of handbell music. We organize regional events, lend out materials, and promote concerts in our area.
Interested in joining the Guild? Membership privileges include access to regional, national, and international events, as well as a subscription to Overtones, the newsletter of the Handbell Musicians of America.
If you are already a member of the Guild, you can access the members-only section of the national Guild website, which includes a membership directory, an online forum, and other resources.
